Google Earth
Currently using it to find my next home. Get the address of the property of interest (not always provided on certain real estate sites). Plug the address into Google Earth and you can have an idea of what the neighborhood looks like. You can also get an idea of the lot size without having to visit the property. And you can get an idea of the distance your new home will be in proximity to certain landmarks, malls, super market, theaters, schools, your job, hospital, police, transportation etc. This is how I am currently using Google Earth.
